At Redwheel, Stewardship is our overarching approach to responsible investing, bringing together Sustainability, Active Ownership and Greenwheel Research & Insights into a single, disciplined framework. Through this framework we integrate material sustainability considerations into investment decisions, support investment teams with central expertise, and use focused engagement, proxy voting and thematic research to protect and enhance long-term client outcomes.
Sustainability
Each investment team is responsible for integrating material sustainability considerations into its investment philosophy, research and portfolio construction. A central team of sustainability specialists provides advice and support, enabling teams to apply sustainability analysis in a way that reflects their strategy while keeping a clear focus on long‑term client outcomes.
Our sustainability function also governs and oversees the integration of sustainability considerations within research, security selection and portfolio management, and provides constructive challenge to ensure investment team approaches remain robust over time.

Our sustainability framework
Our sustainability framework provides the governance, policies and oversight that support the integration of material environmental, social and governance considerations into research, investment decision‑making and stewardship. It gives investment teams access to clear standards, central stewardship expertise, specialist support and disciplined challenge, helping ensure our approach remains robust, consistent and focused on long‑term client outcomes.
Sustainability Committee
An internal Sustainability Committee oversees and challenges how sustainability is integrated across investment and stewardship activities. It provides governance, promotes consistency and supports robust debate on cross-cutting sustainability risks, opportunities and evolving expectations.
Central sustainability resources
Our sustainability resources support investment teams through stewardship expertise, policy guidance and implementation support. This structure helps ensure sustainability considerations are approached with consistency, practical relevance and appropriate challenge across the firm.
Sustainability research and insight
Greenwheel sustainability specialists provide thematic, macro and company-level insights to support investment teams identify material sustainability risks and opportunities. Their work helps strengthen analysis, inform engagement priorities and support more disciplined investment decision-making.
Policies, codes and memberships
Our approach is underpinned by firm‑wide policies, stewardship principles and support for relevant external codes and initiatives. Together, these help ensure our sustainability approach remains credible, consistent and aligned with our responsibilities as a long‑term investment partner.
Governance, policy and regulation
Our Sustainability Strategy, Governance and Policy team is responsible for Redwheel’s firm‑wide sustainability strategy, policy framework and regulatory implementation. The team helps ensure that our approach remains clear, consistent and aligned with evolving regulatory requirements, client needs and market expectations.
Meet the team
Arthur joined Redwheel in early 2017 and focuses on a wide range of investment, strategy and management issues.
Olivia joined Redwheel in 2022 and works in close collaboration with the Head of Investments on the development of Redwheel’s approach to strategy.

Central Stewardship team
Our Stewardship function supports and oversees engagement and voting activity across Redwheel’s investment teams. It coordinates our involvement in thematic and collaborative initiatives, ensures our overarching approach remains aligned with evolving regulation, market practice and client expectations when establishing priorities.
Investment team-led engagement
Each investment team leads engagement with investee companies. The specific issues on which teams engage reflect a variety of factors including their underlying investment philosophy, their investment process, the specifics of the mandate, and their assessment of the extent to which there are financially risks being managed by the target company. Clear objectives and documented dialogue ensure that engagement provides an effective input to ongoing investment research.
Use of voting rights
Exercising voting rights is a key part of our stewardship approach to support and encourage the adoption of strong governance approaches, disciplined capital allocation and sustainable business practices. Voting is considered carefully, informed by our investment convictions and stewardship principles, and forms an important part of how we act as long‑term stewards of our clients’ capital.
Thematic and collaborative engagement
We pursue sustainability thematic engagement on issues that can have a meaningful bearing on long‑term outcomes, including climate, the environment and human rights. Where it supports client interests, we work with other investors and industry bodies to strengthen our voice and help advance higher standards across markets.

What is Greenwheel
Greenwheel is the in-house sustainability insights partner to Redwheel’s investment teams. Greenwheel’s research deepens Redwheel fund managers’ understanding of how environmental and social factors shape risks and opportunities across the product lifecycle.
